About

Maria

Maria’s interest in the human body and how it functions started when she was a swimming teacher, watching how people move in the water. She then met and studied with Steven Shaw, the founder of The Art of Swimming, which emphasises the Alexander Technique and mindfulness in swimming.

Maria is also a student of yoga. She gained her yoga teaching certification in India. She also has a diploma in holistic and medical massage therapies. In 2015, she completed her training with Thomas Myers (of Anatomy Trains) and is a board certified Structural Integration Practitioner.

You can also find Maria on Koh Samui in Thailand where she frequently works as a visiting practitioner at the award winning Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary.

Maria has a passion for pre-natal comfort and post-natal care. She regularly attends courses to stay current and update her skill set. She is passionate about movement and how it can relieve pain and discomfort. She is committed to educating and helping each client with a focus on foot health and the ease of walking.

After 2 years of a sedentary lifestyle and working from home I went to see Maria with a lower back pain. She helped me to understand the root cause of the issue and together with manual therapy and movement education I'm now pain free working out regularly!

Know more about
Anatomy Trains by Thomas Myers

Firstly, the after effects of bad bunion surgery where I needed my posture correcting to stop knee and back pain - Maria managed to help encourage movement back into my toe, and my back and knee pain disappeared. Secondly, following a skull fracture after a cycling accident I was constantly losing my balance and had a ringing in my ear. In only one session with Maria she managed to realign my balance and the ringing almost completely stopped.
